Review: The Last Airbender
The Last Airbender, written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan, is about the world being divided into four kingdoms - each represented by the element Water, Air, Earth and Fire - under the supervision of an Avatar, the only one capable of mastering all four elements.
When the Avatar disappears 100 years ago, the Fire Nation launches an attack to destroy all members of the Air Nomads to prevent interference in their future plans for world domination.
The current Fire Lord Ozai continues to conquer and imprison anyone with elemental "bending" abilities in the Earth and Water Kingdoms.
Meanwhile, siblings Katara (Nicola Peltz) and Sokka (Jackson Rathbone) from a Southern Water Tribe find a mysterious boy trapped beneath the ice outside their village.
Upon rescuing him, he reveals himself to be Aang (Noah Ringer), an Avatar and last of the Air Nomads.
To protect the Avatar and restore peace to the world, Katara and Sokka went on a journey with him to the Northern Water Kingdom in his quest to master "Waterbending" ability.
Throughout the journey, Prince Zuko (Dev Patel), the exiled son of Lord Ozai, is always on the hunt for Aang. Besides that, they must evade Commander Zhao, the Fire Nation's military leader, and evil Fire Lord.
Despite the challenges, they manage to reach the Northern Water Kingdom. There, Sokka befriends and falls in love with Princess Yue. Soon after that, the armada from the Fire Kingdom arrives and starts attacking.
As the battle continues, one of the moon spirits was slayed, causing the Waterbenders to lose all of their powers and abilities. Princess Yue explains to everyone that the moon spirit gave her life, so she is willing to gave it back. She dies after giving the moon spirit her life, everything goes back to normal and the Waterbenders won the battle.

Take note that I've never watched the animated series, therefore I'm unable to compare the storyline with the movie.
Overall, the storyline was interesting but the magic didn't mesmerize me at all. Well, maybe for the kids but definitely not for the adults.
Aang might be a little too kiddo for his age, but since it's a magical world, it's possible. The magic attacks were quite minor. Honestly, I expected more gruesome magic skills - probably combining all 4 elements and creating an even massive havoc!
But, the magic powers used are all just pushing someone with air and water, shooting fireballs and erecting barriers with soil. It's so for kids, what more do you expect?
Basically, it's not really as exciting as the trailer.

Review: Salt
Salt is quite an entertaining movie.
Evelyn Salt (Angelina Jolie) is a CIA agent and highly respected by all, including her boss, Ted Winter. Then, a Russian spy walks into their offices and offers a vital information - the President of Russia will be assassinated during his forthcoming visit to New York City.
The name of the assassin revealed is Evelyn Salt. Concerned about the safety of her husband, who she cannot contact, she goes on the run. Winter refuses to accept that she is a mole or a double agent but her actions begin to raise doubts.
There are quite a number of suspense and surprises within the storyline. One moment you think Salt is on the good side, then suddenly on the bad side. Therefore, it's quite unpredictable.
Along the way, people who you don't expect to be a double agent turned out to actually Russian spies. Believe it or not, those Russian spies have planned that particular assassination for years!
Action wise, there are lots of shootings and bombings. The flashback of Salt's younger days were pretty descriptive and it made the confused puzzles clearer. However, don't expect detailed Russian spies documentary.

Review: The Sorcerer's Apprentice
The Sorcerer's Apprentice is a very, very Disney movie. By relating it to "Disney", you should know what to expect.
If you're expecting some nasty and crazy magic actions, no you won't get that at all. It's definitely more to entertaining the younger audience, especially the kids.
A little about the movie. Balthazar Blake (Nicolas Cage) is a master sorcerer in modern-day trying to defend the city from his nemesis, Maxim Horvath (Alfred Molina). Balthazar can't do it alone, so he recruits Dave Stutler (Jay Baruchel), an average guy who demonstrates hidden magic potential, as his reluctant protégé.
The sorcerer gives his unwilling accomplice a crash course in the art and science of magic, and together, they work to stop the forces of darkness. It'll take all the courage Dave can muster to survive his training, save the city and get the girl as he becomes The Sorcerer's Apprentice.
Overall the movie is plain boring and uninteresting. The storyline was pretty quick. Balthazar meets Dave, gets him to learn magic, a little magic fights and he finally saves the day!
More entertainment for the kids but never for the adults, unless they love kiddo shows as well.
Personally, I expected more actions. But what more can you expect from a Disney movie?

Review: Inception
Inception, directed by Christopher Nolan, is probably one of the best movies of the year 2010! "Mind-Blowing" - one word to describe the film!
The movie is mainly about stealing valuable secrets from deep within the subconscious during the dream state, when the mind is at its most vulnerable.
Starring Leonardo DiCaprio as Cobb, he use his unique skills to his advantage - he can enter people's minds through their dreams and thereby learn their secrets.
Cobb is a thief for hire but Japanese businessman Mr. Saito (Ken Watanabe) has a proposition for him, a proposition that will dismiss his "wanted" status back in US.
He wants Cobb to enter the mind of Robert Fischer Jr., who is about to inherit his father's massive business empire, to plant a simple notion - to break-up his father's business.
Together with his team, Cobb went into Fischer Jr.'s dream and that's when all the awesomeness starts. Arthur (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is always the one assisting Cobb during their "dream" quest.
He's the ladies' pick! Many ladies unanimously agree that Arthur is more attractive than Cobb.
Anyway, new in the team is architect student, Ariadne (Ellen Page). An architect is in-charge of building the dream. She looks really hot!
Alright, I won't bore you guys with another lengthy review because there are already so many other reviews done. It's basically a dream within another dream within another dream and the dream goes on. Quite confusing if you don't follow the storyline properly.
The interesting feature of this movie is that director Christopher Nolan took almost 10 years to perfect the plot. I'd definitely say it's a job well done!
A little more about Inception - the totem is quite an interesting object. Each of the team member uses a personal totem to determine whether they're in a dream or not. If it wobbles and drops after being spun, it means the person is in the reality world.
Overall, it's a great and awesome show! It could tire your brain if you try thinking about explanations for the movie.

Titanic 2 Official Trailer and Poster
On the 100th anniversary of the original voyage, a modern luxury liner christened Titanic 2, follows the path of its namesake. But when a tsunami hurls an ice berg into the new ship's path, the passengers and crew must fight to avoid a similar fate.
The official movie poster is not creative. Noob.

Sophisticated ship? Looks more like a copied version right?
Storyline is almost the same as the original, just the change of casts. Hitting an iceberg with additional wave to make it more dramatic.
Honestly, the original Titanic is romantic but based on the trailer, Titanic 2 is gonna be a noob disaster movie.

Review: Death Race
Warning: Content may contain spoilers.
Death Race tells a story of a man who was framed and sent to prison so that he can replace the legendary Frankenstein, a masked driver, in the infamous Death Race. During the race, the drivers (prisoners) are allowed to eliminate their competitors by using artillery attached to their cars. Yes, they kill each other while racing!
Overall, the movie was exciting. The actions were awesome and I like the 'game feature'. It's like Need For Speed where the ranking will be shown. Besides that, the drivers are required to drive over a 'trigger' on the racetrack in order to activate the car's defense or attack weapons. I was actually amazed by this creativity!
The well-known The Transporter and The Italian Job star, Jason Statham, is another exceptional actor. He's very suitable for all these kinds of action movies, in my opinion.

Jensen Ames (Jason Statham) was framed for his wife's murder and was sent to the Terminal Island Prison, the place where Death Race is broadcast to the world. Hennessey (Joan Allen), the prison's warden, was actually the culprit behind the murder of Ames' wife; she wants him in her prison because he has impressive car racing records. Ames was then asked to take over the role of Frankenstein, who was badly wounded or dead (I'm not sure) in the previous race, by Hennessey.
The original Frankenstein had won 4 races and if Ames wins the next one (as Frankenstein), Hennessey will grant him his freedom. Wanting to retrieve his baby back from the foster parents, he accepted the role of the masked driver. He was then assigned to his navigator, Case (Natalie Martinez), who was also Frankenstein's previous navigator. She's hot!
The race was divided into 3 stages and the rule is simple; eliminate the others and win. The winner will gain one step closer towards freedom.
In the 1st stage, Ames managed to uphold the role well and he survived it. He also realized that the man who killed his wife is one of the racers; Pachenko.
During the 2nd round, Ames found out that Case was actually assigned by Hennessy to sabotage Frankenstein's Ford Mustang so he wouldn't win his freedom. In return, she'll earn her own freedom. Hennessey is such a bitch! Anyway, at some point during the race, Ames killed Pachenko with his bare hands to seek revenge.
Feeling displeased, Hennessy summoned The Dreadnought, a huge tank truck with several heavy machine guns and missiles, to kill the drivers. It has a flame thrower too!
Machine Gun Joe (Tyrese Gibson) and Ames were the only two remaining as the rest was ruthlessly killed by the rampant Dreadnought. Ames and Joe then co-operated and they managed to destroy the tank together.
In stage 3, the race began with the final 2 drivers. However, Hennessy played dirty and gave the advantage to Joe. But both of them deceived Hennessy and they escaped to the mainland through a destroyed billboard. Police cars and helicopters were deployed but they failed to apprehend both Ames and Joe. Later on, Hennessey was killed when she received a bomb. Serves the bitch right!
Six months later, Ames and Joe were shown working in a junkyard and Case arrived moments later. She got her freedom because Hennessey has already signed her release papers before the race. The movie ended with Ames narrating that even though he's far from being the best dad, no one could love his child more than he could.
He's such a sweet and loving dad.

Filled with exciting explosions and racing scenes. You don't wanna miss it!

Review: Despicable Me
Despicable Me is another favourite animation of mine other than How To Train Your Dragon.
The movie started off with Gru (Steve Carell's voice) being a villain who wants to be the meanest villain around.
However, Vector (voiced by Jason Segel), another villain, is the real culprit behind the existing major theft cases such as stealing the pyramid!
As a result, Gru decided to do something more outrageous instead - steal the moon! In order to do that, he managed to steal the shrink ray but Vector stole it away from him.
Since Gru and his cheeky minions were unable to retrieve the shrink ray back from Vector's heavily defensive fort, he resorted to use 3 orphan girls in his plan.
Meet Margo (center), Edith (left) and Agnes (right). These girls managed to infiltrate Vector's base, distracted him and Gru successfully stole back the shrink ray.
As Gru continues his plan to steal the moon, the three little orphaned girls changed his life and made him someone whom he never expected to be - a potential Dad.
Overall, it's a funny yet touching movie. Contains a variety of jokes and laughter that can certainly make your day!
Famous Quote: "It's so fluffy, I'm gonna die!" by cute Agnes.

Meet Margo (center), Edith (left) and Agnes (right). These girls managed to infiltrate Vector's base, distracted him and Gru successfully stole back the shrink ray.
As Gru continues his plan to steal the moon, the three little orphaned girls changed his life and made him someone whom he never expected to be - a potential Dad.
Overall, it's a funny yet touching movie. Contains a variety of jokes and laughter that can certainly make your day!
