When Sam investigates a strange signal sent from the old Flynn's Arcade, he finds himself pulled into a digital world where Kevin has been trapped for 20 years.
As Sam frantically steps out onto the Grid, he is detained by a Recognizer and the programs assigned him to the Games mode. There, he was put into the combat zone and somehow survived.
Clu, who has been watching the combat events, has Sam brought to him. When they talk, Sam believes he is speaking to his father. However, Clu denied and sent him to the Light Cycle arena.
As the game was ending and Sam was about to die in the hands of Clu, Sam was saved by Quorra who then brought him back to meet his true dad at a hidden place.
Attempting to escape to the real world through the portal, Sam, Quorra and Kevin embarked on a journey across the cyber universe where Clu will stop at nothing to prevent their escape.
In the end, Sam and Quorra managed to escape while Kevin perished when he stopped Clu from catching up.
Overall, the movie was nice. Cool lightning and effects, especially during the Light Cycle area where the Light Cycles are amazing. Graphics and animations were stunning.
The trails from the Light Cycles are certainly fascinating. Definitely a cool factor when it comes to 3D effects.
A prominent object throughout the movie is the identity disc. It works as a memory storage and a weapon. The concept is good but if it's an important object, why would it be placed at the owner's back in the first place?
On second thought, I guess only Kevin Flynn's disc was important.
Basically, the storyline was interesting and there are quite a number of suspense within the plot, which could make the audience guess and anticipate the next outcome.
Unfortunately, I can't comment much on the 3D effects because I didn't watched in 3D. But I assume the only outstanding 3D effects are during the Light Cycle game.
Noobie Rating: 7/10 (Watch it if you have the time)
